To ensure the optimum preparation for the flaking process, the influence of steam is of utmost importance. It makes the respective product plastically deformable and reduces the percentage of broken grains during flaking.
Application possibilities of hydrothermal treatment:
- Soybeans
- Legumes
- Cereals
- Feed mixtures
- Rape and cotton seed
Before the product is conditioned in a hydrothermal conditioner or in a kiln, it passes through the steamer made of stainless steel. Via a special hollow shaft with paddles, steam is introduced uniformly into the product. The respective product then undergoes heat treatment at a steam temperature of approx. 90 - 100 °C. After the steam supply, the product passes through a so-called tempering zone of the conditioner, in which the supplied moisture acts on the product.
The round shape of the hydrothermal conditioner contributes to a uniform effect of the steam and at the same time ensures the mass flow of the product (first in first out).
The hydrothermal SCHULE conditioner is manufactured in three sizes can be combined easily with all variants of our flaking roller mill.
Advantages of hydrothermal reactors:
- Low maintenance
- Versatile applications
- Uniform effect of the steam
After hydrothermal treatment and flaking, the product is fed into another high-performance machine by the company Schule. The flakes produced - be it baby flakes made of cut grain or jumbo flakes made of whole grains - are passed through a special flake screen and fines are screened off.
